I spent most of 2007 on tour. By the end of the trip, I found myself completely exhausted and unhealthy. I decided that there had to be more to existence than playing shows and driving around America in my Buick Century. I rented an attic space in Darren Myers’ house. I began some pretty intense detoxifications and life changes. I started practicing Pranayama exercises. The effects of the exercises were unbelievable. I felt more alive from moment to moment than I had ever felt. Around this time, I was introduced to the teachings of Father Yod and Yogi Bhajan. I began to practice Kundalini Yoga and Star Exercises with the sacred herb in the early morning as Father Yod suggested. I quickly found myself activating my pituitary and pineal glands. I began to know complete ecstasy with each day as my awareness grew and my heart opened. My life began to rapidly change. In the midst of this change I began working with a new tuning (F F# G# A B C# D# F). It seemed to have nearly the same heart and mind opening effects on me as my meditations. The more I played the piece, the more it felt like my head was about to explode into the ethers. This is one of my all time favorite dulcimer pieces.
